the attention is very very nice BUT . . . .

GTS does not ask for something for nothing

Please do not ask for something for nothing from us.

Comments and criticisms are always very welcome.

The GTS site is FREE to all comers but asking for specific holiday details or help with land purchases or money transfers or any other help is a service restricted to GTS members who pay for that service, and get it.

Any comments to Francis by email please

GTS was setup with the sole intention of raising finances to support adults and children in The Gambia.

Part of that quest is to promote The Gambia as a holiday destination, up to now we have tried to answer everyone who contacts us including non members, in the hope that non members will join and contribute to the work we are doing - unfortunatley most don't even say thank you.

GTS does not ask for money for nothing from you - membership subs of £10 per person per year, are for services provided to members both before their holiday and during it. All that money is put into our Gambian charity account and used for childrens education or for small interest free loans to families struggling to be self sufficient.

The cost of running the services in the UK is funded totally by us, and includes all phone calls, stationery, stamps, internet connections and all the time spent updating the site and answering members and non members enquiries.

We do it to help Gambians have proper jobs and to provide education for children who have not had the opportunities our children have had in the west.

We do not provide a FREE enquiry service to non members, but as the site gets more visitors more and more enquiries come from non members who contribute nothing at all to the work we are doing.

I now have a semi automated email reply, that gets sent to non members explaining our position and requesting that they consider joining or sending GTS a donation in exchange for answers to the requests they make for help and assistance.

Unfortunately, "nothing is for nothing" - it is something we tell bumsters begging on the streets and beaches in The Gambia and ask GTS members to do the same.

Sadly if you are not a GTS member - please sign up and contribute to the help we provide for Gambians. Then we can help you with your questions
