Kebba is the second really close friend of ours who has died in Gambia.

Moses died two years ago in hospital after he contracted Pneumonia.

It should be no surprise that the average life expectancy is only 49.

Our prayers and help will go to his family.

I have only just received the news that our caretaker and watchman at Brufut 3 who had been ill last week for a few days, had a relapse earlier this week - Aimee and Jerreh saw him yesterday and reported that he was feeling very poorly. Kabs was going to see him this morning but received a call at 8am that Kebba had died.

Kebba had been the caretaker and watchman at Brufut for the original owner 'Francis' at the time the house was first built. When GTS took the compound over after being given it on loan by Pamela and David Brodie, GTS inherited Kebba and his lovely family.

Kebba helped so much getting the place ready for the weekly visits that GTS runs into Rural Gambia, he had started a horticulture plot, repaired all the boundary fences and was always there to show people around and make wanjo and happy tea.

All his children were charming especially Fatou his eldest daughter who was always such a willing helper and it is very sad that such young children are left without their father. (Alagie is missing from the snapshot)

GTS would like to call for sponsors who will help us to support Kebba's family.
