It was a lovely morning in London, 15th September so we all set off to British Airways - London Eye, we can just see it from the flat, but have never had an excuse to visit. It is an experience well worth repeating, though the queues took a bit longer than expected, first to get a 'Flight' ticket £9.50 each, then waiting in the queue for a Costa coffee and finally for the wheel itself, a total of well over an hour, followed by a magical 30 minute experience taking you high enough to see green fields all round London. One 'flight' just wasn't enough, we will definitely go again. Sainabou said little but looked intently at all the sights we pointed out, including Helen's school in Lambeth, and our block of flats. We took the tube to Brixton, Sainabou is now well experienced at escalators but the idea of going under the river made her gasp. Brixton marketis maybe the closest to getting the feel of Gambia anywhere in the UK. We looked till we dropped, bought dozens of things cheaper than they are in Gambia and then went off to the main and original screen in the Ritzy to watch Moulin Rough. Then back home for dinner and an evening of Crazy 8, I lost count, but I can definitely say that Sainabou whipped us all at it good and proper.
Sainabou returns to Gambia in the middle of October, we hope we will see her again during her stay, BUT will definitely keep in touch back in The Gambia. Adam goes out to Gambia in November to help with GTS and to get the GTS Dardeema restaurant started. 5 Top
