Membership
&/or Donations &/or Sponsorship Membership is a very cost effective way of adding great value to your visit, BUT at the same time supporting the local Gambian people. The financial benefits are cash discounts to members. This actually helps the local people by distributing the tourist spending more widely, SO although you are paying less - all of your 'spend' stays with them and their workers, rather than with middle men. FREE pickup
from Banjul Airport on your first visit to Gambia each year of your membership,
(return costs depend on the hotel you are in - Free for members staying
at GTS Kololi) Membership subscriptions also provide some income to support the GTS/GETS office in Senegambia at the same location as our GTS Bar & Restaurant - please call in and have a meal or just a drink and enjoy the GTS style and cleanliness & browse our office. GTS hopes that you will return to The Gambia and use our hosting service again and again - BUT if you don’t, we hope you will consider continuing your support of our work by keeping up your membership as a Support Members through GETS for many years. We have purchased land near the tourist centre at Kololi where we provide very reasonably priced accommodation units for members. GTS/GETS runs 3 Nursery school projects, a Community Library & Computer Lab, a Multi Purpose Sports Hall, a Woman's Garden Project (CWATP) 100 individually sponsored families as well as providing an education for 200 other children in the schools funded or administered by GETS and 80 individually sponsored students. GTS very actively supports Working Break Volunteers & Gap Year Students and since late 2002, we have placed 33 volunteers for 3 week to 6 month placements, in schools, helping to develop the dramatic arts, at our Restaurant or on our building development projects - Since the charity registration of GETSuk, most of our volunteers work in our schools or help with curriculum development, but a number work in teh office or support the GTS Kololi project. Maybe you can help if so contact us by email - or drop into the Office and have a chat From January 2010 the Members Zone will open at GTS Kololi, this will provide both GTS and GETS members with a venue to meet, eat & drink and enjoy the company of the whole range of charity volunteers and workers staying in The Gambia or visiting on holiday or simply just for chilling in a bumsters free area. Many Thanks 5 Top
