Another bad experience giving and 75% distruption rate on GTS's own use of this carrier - Adam delayed in Gambia for 4 days, without notification

Our GTS experience with Sierra has not been good, but it is part of the way schedule flight operators work, over bookings often mean people left at the airport and under bookings often result in postponed flights to make sure planes fly full.

If arrival times are important DO NOT risk flying with Sierra.

There are circumstances where having an additional 4 days in Gambia would be very welcome, but when it means missing an important job in the UK and letting people down it is irritating and very inconvienient.

This is the price you pay for a small reduction (£20 in this case) in the fare you would pay the much more relaible Gambia Experience operator - the only other option when travelling from UK to Gambia outside the major tourist season.

Regulars of the GTS site may remember that Kabs trip to UK was delayed last year because over booking left around 50 passengers stranded at Banjul airport - many passengers were seen paying bribes to get seats on that occassion and Kabs return flight was also postponed - in the UK he was provided with food and accommodation in Gambia he did not even get an apology.

Adam was told of the cancellation by a friend and confirmed it by going to the Sierra National Offices - the staff siad they were too busy to let people know about the cancellation.

As always, I add that the once I flew with SN, the flight was excellent, one of the best I have ever had to Gambia. But that was just 1 out of 4 of GTS experiences, not a good record at all.

In a few weeks a GTS member will travel from UK to Gambia with Sierra national it will be interesting if either of his flights run into problems - I'll let you know.
